Arranged, by Sara Wolf

When Rose Jensen’s grandfather dies, he leaves her enough money to save her parents’ failing business and get her through UCLA. The only catch – she has to marry Lee Montenegro, the infuriating half-Spanish, all-playboy transfer. Rose and Lee’s grandfathers were fast friends, and betrothed their grandchildren to each other.

Lee wants the money to run from his suffocating family, and turns his full burning charisma on Rose, but she won’t give in. She’ll never marry someone she doesn't love, and who doesn't love her. But memories of a mysterious boy in her childhood haunt her, and Lee insists they know each other.

With her parent’s pressures mounting, her scholarship slipping, and Lee’s advances heating up with more than just money-lust, Rose is torn between doing the right thing for her family, and doing the right thing for her heart

Buyer beware... cliff hanger
By Amy Jones
While the writing was good and the story intriguing I feel like it's been done before over and over. I would have liked a warning that this book is a huge cliff hanger and not HEA. Not the kind of ending I wanted for a relaxing read. Had I known there was a cliff hanger ending I would not have read it until the next book was out.

So Emotional!
By S.C. Langgle
Oh. My. God. I did not expect the last third of this book to put me through such an emotional wringer! I'm so stressed out now!

I thought this was a really great example of a new adult book that actually offers a deeper look into the college experience and all the difficulties that come along with it. Like Rose, the heroine of Arranged, I had a scholarship in college and worried about burdening my parents financially, so I was really able to identify with her. Rose was a great portrayal of a character who feels responsible for her family's happiness, so much so that she puts it ahead of her own--I think this is a common feeling for young women, but I haven't seen it explored in too many books. This was also an interesting parallel between Rose and love-interest Lee: on the surface, Lee seems to be a self-interested playboy, but the more we learn about him, the more clear it becomes that he too puts others ahead of himself and doesn't really feel like he deserves his own happiness.

Aside from a few snippets in Lee's point of view, the story is told almost entirely from Rose's viewpoint, and I actually really liked that. I liked getting to see just little hints of Lee's depth and sadness along with Rose. I think there's a lot more to learn about Lee and the experiences he and Rose shared as children, and I am very eager to read the next installment of this story!

LIKED THE BOOK, SHAME IT'S ONLY PART ONE!
By Reader
Rose is a quiet studious girl, at nineteen never been on a date, never been kissed. Then she meets Lee he's transferred to her college. What Rose doesn't realise is that Lee has transferred especially to get to know Rose because he knows something, that she doesn't.
Rosie's grandfather had died recently, it's then she discovers that her grandfather has left her a large sun of money. Provided she marries Lee. From then on Ros is totally distrusting of him, why else would this tall gorgeous and really popular guy be interested in her. But Lee claims that they know one another from when they were children, and he has always had a thing for her. But Rose doesn't remember him at all.

I liked this story, the characters were well drawn, especially Rose. The book picks up the further you get into it. The ending really sucks. It's a cliffhanger. Had I known that this was only the first instalment I might not have bothered with it. I am really getting tired of these stories being dragged out over more than one book. You lose the momentum while waiting for the next book. It might have been nice if the author had included in the blurb that this is a series. I feel a bit annoyed about that!
